IMPULS 2 in triple traction being tested

The modern electric multiple units ordered by the Podkarpackie Province have left for test drives in triple traction.

According to the order of July 31, 2019,  eight electric multiple units will leave for Podkarpacie, with the two diesel multiple units being already in Rzeszów. The contract guarantees the supply of a total of ten vehicles as part of the Podkarpackie Agglomeration Railway for almost PLN 200 million.

IMPULS 2 vehicles, manufactured by NEWAG S.A., are one of the most modern electric multiple units in Poland. When designing them, special attention was paid to the safety and comfort of travel. IMPULS 2 vehicles designed for the train routes of the Podkarpackie Province will be equipped with ETCS standard 3 (baseline 3). ETCS provides cab signaling as well as driver control with an increased level of safety.
