NEWAG with a “Badge of Merit for Contribution to Innovation”

On 25-26 March 2019, the Polish Patent Office held the 12th edition of the international conference “Innovation and Creativity in Economy.” The conference included a ceremony of granting honorary “Badges of Merit for Contribution to Innovation” granted by Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.  

The theme of this year’s event was “Designing Visual Identification of Enterprises.” The conference was held at the headquarters of the Warsaw Stock Exchange and its co-organisers included WIPO – the World Intellectual Property Organisation and the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

“The Badge of Merit for Contribution to Innovation” is granted to innovative companies which support development and promote innovation and which have outstanding results in implementing new technologies and to those who contribute to the development of science and boldly introduce innovations in everyday life.

The badge is a round, 32 mm diameter medal made from gilded brass and amber. The averse bears the outer ring with the text “The Republic of Poland” and an amber circle in the middle of which there is the national emblem. The reverse has a ring with the text: “ For Contribution to Innovation.”

The Polish Patent Office was founded on 28 December 1918. On 10 November 1919, Poland signed the Paris Convention for the Protection of Intellectual Property, thus joining international cooperation in this field.
