Recently, two carriers, namely Szybka Kolej Miejska (SKM) in Warsaw and Koleje Dolnośląskie, selected NEWAG’s bids to perform technical inspection of IMPULS trains manufactured by the Company.
For SKM Warsaw, the Nowy Sącz manufacturer will perform maintenance level P4 repairs of six 35WE electric multiple units (EMUs) consisting of six sections. Under its offer, NEWAG will perform all work relative to the maintenance level P4 technical repairs in accordance with the Maintenance System Documentation approved by the carrier as well as additional works including train painting, legalizing all equipment and performing all works necessary for the trains to achieve technical conditions set forth in legal provisions. The deadline for completion of the total works is eight months since granting the contract. The total net value of the SKM Warsaw order is PLN 19 770 000.00.
NEWAG’s offer for Koleje Dolnośląskie, on the other hand, covers the performance of the maintenance level P3 repairs of five 31WE EMUs consisting of four sections. Beyond the scope of level P3 repairs, NEWAG will replace worn-out monoblock wheels. It should be emphasized that each of the IMPULS trains operated by Koleje Dolnośląskie has covered at least 500 000km and this is the first time the monoblock wheel replacement is performed. Moreover, NEWAG will expand the existing train Passenger Information System by installing new side destination boards. The deadline for the performance of the total works is December 2016. NEWAG’s proposed net price for performing the total works, which was accepted by the carrier, is PLN 2 645 000.00.
