Koleje Dolnośląskie order another five IMPULS trains

Today wit­nes­sed signing of a con­tract for the pro­cu­re­ment of five modern four-unit IMPULS 31WEa tra­ins. The newly-ordered four-unit tra­ins will be sli­gh­tly dif­fe­rent from the Elec­tric Mul­ti­ple Units (EMUs) alre­ady sup­plied to Koleje Dol­no­ślą­skie, with an alte­red shape of the train head and the LED headli­ghts. The inte­rior lay­out and colo­uring will also be chan­ged at the Orde­ring Party’s requ­est. The tra­ins will carry up to 460 pas­sen­gers each and will tra­vel with a speed of up to 160km/h.

The IMPULS 31WEa tra­ins will be com­pliant with the Tech­ni­cal Spe­ci­fi­ca­tions for Inte­ro­pe­ra­bi­lity (TSI) which are bin­ding stan­dards in the Euro­pean Union.

The tra­ins will service the Wro­cław – Rawicz route.

The net value of the con­tract signed today is PLN 78 mil­lion and it com­pri­ses the second task as set forth in the invi­ta­tion to ten­der issued by Koleje Dol­no­ślą­skie on August 3, 2013. The con­tract for the imple­men­ta­tion of the first task com­pri­sed the sup­ply of six three-unit elec­tric mul­ti­ple units and was fina­li­sed at the end of 2014.

The new four-unit EMUs will be deli­ve­red to the Orde­ring Party in the fourth quar­ter of 2015. By the end of 2015, Koleje Dol­no­ślą­skie will have been ope­ra­ting in total 16 IMPULS tra­ins manu­fac­tu­red by NEWAG S.A.
