Sądecka Dycha Street Run
For the ninth time, more than 300 runners participating in the Sądecka Dycha street run covered the 10 kilometre distance starting from the Market Square in Stary Sącz with the finish line on the Nowy Sącz Market Square.
This year’s winner in the women’s category was Katarzyna Albrycht who covered the distance in 00:36:38, Maureen Kipkoech Kiprono (Individuel) came second (00:37:51), followed by Ewa Kucharska, representing CA Aktywni Club (her result was 00:38:08.)
The three top runners of the men’s category were from Kenia. The winner was Gideon Kipkemboi Kosgei (Individuel) achieving the result of 00:32:01. Benard Kitur (Individuel) came second losing 3 seconds to the winner. Nelson Kipkogei Cherutich (Benedek-Team) was third (his score: 00:32:42.)
In the NEWAG S.A. category winners among women were: Sylwia Wardęga (00:46:17), followed by Klaudia Kolegowicz (00:48:17). In the men’s category the winner was Piotr Pociecha (00:36:31), with Wojciech Damian coming second (00:38:58), and Bartłomiej Badowski coming third (00:41:36).
An unusually warm and sunny weather attracted a crowd of fans who could watch the race live on a projector screen. Sądecka Dycha is not only a running event– starting from 9 am when the race office was opened, the audience could listen to a concert by No Brothers band and children could participate in quizzes devoted to the history of Nowy Sącz, NEWAG and a history of running sport events.
The race was followed by an official awards ceremony and a draw of attractive prizes among the runners. The awards were officially handed out by Zbigniew Konieczek, CEO of NEWAG S.A., Józef Michalik, Vice President of NEWAG S.A., Łukasz Wysowski, Paweł Szczepanik and Marian Ryżak, NEWAG’s employee, the run coordinator and main organizer.
